FICTITIOUS AND ACTUAL LANDS

Fictitious and Actual Lands abstractly juxtapose fragments of geographic information, inventing new lands and bodies of water. The paintings are made by layering many colors of translucent paint over collaged fragments of map information, then selectively buffing and sanding the surface. The series includes paintings, atlases, and works on paper.
