FICTITIOUS AND ACTUAL LANDS

Fictitious and Actual Lands use various strategies including fragmentation, juxtaposition, and distortion of geographic information to invent new lands and bodies of water. The paintings consist of many layers of colors painted over collaged map fragments, with selective buffing and sanding exposing earlier elements. The series includes paintings, atlases, and works on paper.
